Fast fashion has drastically changed the way that consumers view
fashion.

Cheaper, plastic based, clothing is produced in surplus in order to keep up with the growing
demand for textiles. These plastic textiles do not decompose, and the surplus is
either burned or sent to landfills in continents like Africa.

We use natural tannins from avocado waste to create a zero waste system
in our leather production. Our products are 100% natural and biodegradable.

The nopal cactus is able to thrive in arid climates with a water footprint
of about 250 liters of water per year. The cacti also create a microhabitat that allows other
organisms to thrive, as well as creating a carbon sink.

Why the Nopal Cactus?

The nopal cactus has high water efficiency and can grow in poor degraded soils
where other plants fail to grow. This is perfect for sub-Saharan Africa's arid
climate that is prone to droughts.
The cacti also create a microhabitat for other plants and animals to thrive in
promoting biodiversity in the ecosystem, and absorb CO2 from the atmosphere acting as a carbon sink.
Most importantly, these cacti produce food as a by-product which reduces food insecurity
and provides economic growth for minority and indigenous communities in Africa.

Avocado as a tanning agent

Traditional tanning agents such as azo dyes, nickel, PCP, and chrome IV pose
major health risks to textile workers and the environment.
We use avocado waste as a natural tanning agent in our production process which
is both sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Avocado waste is a byproduct of the avocado industry, which is prevalent in Kenya,
and by using this waste, we are reducing the amount of waste that ends up
in landfills and contributes to environmental degradation.

Growing as a community

Our commitment to the minority and indigenous peoples of Africa
extends beyond simply providing them with economic opportunities.

We are dedicated to educating them about the impact of their
actions on the environment and the global community.
Beyond leather production, we further contribute to sustainability by
transforming waste products into fodder and flour for both animal and human consumption,
ensuring a holistic and responsible approach to resource utilization.

By creating a sustainable business model that supports local communities
and reduces our carbon footprint, we can help pave the way towards a more sustainable future for all.
